Francis D’Haene, a NY based Belgian architect and principal of d’apostrophe design, inc. has been selected as a recipient of Interior Design Magazines prestigious BEST OF YEAR Award. The winning project was the transformation of a barn into a 5300 sq. ft. second home in Remsenburg, NY. Created for one of the founders of the Le Pain Quotidian restaurants, D’Haene and his team re-engineered the whole structure. By knocking down interior walls and adding a sleek central staircase they were able to create a clean contemporary interior. A true blend of the purest elements of a minimalist, modern style and an authentic rustic aesthetic.
